What to expect
How the blepharoplasty procedure works
1. Consultation
Dr. Malouf examines the upper eyelids, measures excess skin, and confirms candidacy for upper-lid blepharoplasty.
2. Day of procedure
You arrive at the Fort Worth office. The upper-lid crease is marked and local anesthesia is injected.
3. Skin removal
A precise ellipse of excess upper-lid skin is removed. Small amounts of fat may be sculpted if needed.
4. Closure
Incisions are closed with fine sutures placed entirely within the natural upper-lid crease — essentially invisible once healed.
5. Go home the same day
You leave the office with cool compresses and go home with a driver. No overnight admission.
6. Recovery
Sutures removed at 5–7 days. Most patients return to social activity within 7–10 days. Final scar continues to fade for several months.
