Neck Lift Under Local Anesthesia
Local anesthesia only. No general anesthesia. All procedures performed in-office — you’re awake, comfortable, and drive-home ready.
A minimally invasive neck lift performed in-office under local tumescent anesthesia — sharper jawline definition without general anesthesia or hospital admission.

What it is
A mini necklift addresses the 'turkey neck,' banding, and excess fullness beneath the chin that can make the face look older or heavier. Dr. Malouf combines fat removal and skin tightening — often alongside a Safelift — under local anesthesia to restore a clean, defined neckline.
Ideal candidates
- You have loose skin or banding under the chin
- You have submental fullness ('double chin')
- You want to restore a defined jaw-to-neck angle
- You prefer to avoid general anesthesia
The procedure
Performed in-office under local tumescent anesthesia through small, hidden incisions. Excess fat is removed and the neck skin and muscle are tightened. The procedure typically takes 1–2 hours.
Recovery
Most patients wear a light support garment briefly and return to normal activity within 1–2 weeks.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be combined with a facelift?+
Yes — the mini necklift is frequently combined with the Safelift for comprehensive lower-face and neck rejuvenation.
What is a mini neck lift?+
A mini neck lift is a minimally invasive procedure that tightens loose skin and softens vertical neck bands to restore a defined jawline and neck contour. Dr. Malouf performs this in-office under local tumescent anesthesia — no general anesthesia required.
How is a mini neck lift different from a full neck lift?+
A traditional neck lift is done under general anesthesia with a hospital stay and 2–3 weeks of downtime. A mini neck lift is performed in-office under local anesthesia with about a week of recovery, and is ideal for patients with mild to moderate neck laxity.
Will I have visible scars?+
Incisions are placed discreetly behind the ears and, when needed, in a small crease under the chin. Scars typically fade to become very difficult to see over the first year.
How long do mini neck lift results last?+
Most patients enjoy their improved neckline for 7–10 years. Natural aging continues, but the surgical improvement remains visible long-term.
How much does a mini neck lift cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?+
Pricing depends on the scope of your procedure and whether it is combined with other treatments. Cost is discussed during consultation.
Can it be combined with a facelift?+
Yes — many patients combine a mini neck lift with a Safelift mini-facelift for comprehensive lower-face and neck rejuvenation in a single session under local anesthesia.
What to expect
How the mini neck lift works
1. Consultation
Dr. Malouf evaluates your neck anatomy — skin laxity, platysma banding, submental fat — and recommends the procedure combination that will best achieve your goals.
2. Day of procedure
Incision lines are marked below the chin and behind the ear. Tumescent anesthesia is infiltrated to numb and vasoconstrict the entire operative field.
3. Fat removal & platysma tightening
Excess submental fat is removed with tumescent liposuction. The platysma muscle is plicated in the midline to sharpen the cervicomental angle.
4. Skin redraping
Loose skin is repositioned superolaterally. Small incisions behind the ear allow excess skin removal without a visible facelift scar.
5. Go home the same day
You leave in a chin strap and go home with a driver — no overnight admission.
6. Recovery
Chin strap for the first few days. Sutures removed at about one week. Most patients return to social activity within 7–10 days.
